Ms. Axelrod is the owner of the Firm. She has been recognized by her peers as a Super Lawyer and appears as such for the second time in a row in Super Lawyers Magazine, most recently in the Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel March / April 2010 Edition. She is President-Elect of the Temple Law Alumni Association (TLAA). She will be TLAA's 4th female president in its over 95 year history when her term begins in June 2011. In 2009, Ms. Axelrod was awarded TLAA's Distinguished Service Award for her service to the association. She is also an active member of the Philadelphia and Gloucester County Bar Associations and a recipient of the 2008 Pro Bono Roll of Honor from the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. In the Spring of 2010, she garnered the distinction of being named to two posts in the Philadelphia Bar Association. The Chancellor of the Bar appointed her: (1) to the Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention, which ensures that the public is well informed about those running to be judges, and those judges running for re-election; and (2) to Co-Chair the Bar's Law Practice Management Committee. Ms. Axelrod provides appellate and brief writing services and represents clients in their real estate, commercial, employment, creditors' rights and bodily injury matters. As a young lawyer, Ms. Axelrod was elected to the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association. In the three-year volunteer post, she primarily dedicated her time to children including by co-chairing the Michael K. Smith Oratorical Contest for children in grades 4 through 8. She has spent 5 years coaching high school mock trial teams and in 2000 and 2001, coached the Overbrook High School Mock Trial Teams to the Regional Championships of the John S. Bradway High School Mock Trial Competition. More than one-third of Overbrook High School students do not graduate from high school. However, every Overbrook High School student Ms. Axelrod coached graduated from high school and all but 1 student she coached went on to college. In 2001, Ms. Axelrod spearheaded bringing Philadelphia Reads to Blank Rome. The goal of the program, which at the time was run under the auspices of Mayor Street, remains the same today: to ensure that all school children read well and independently by the end of third grade.
