Our Firm

The Axelrod Firm, PC is a three-attorney, woman-owned, Philadelphia law firm helping individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations with their commercial, employment, appellate, bodily injury / product liability, real estate, and estate planning needs. The Firm's attorneys are Sheryl Axelrod, Bob Cohen, and Chris Stouffer.

At The Axelrod Firm, we get to know our clients -- who they are, their goals, their concerns, and their interests. We listen to what they want and work together to develop a strategy aimed at maximizing results. Every step we take thereafter is designed to effectuate that strategy, and is done in consultation with our clients. Throughout the process, we demonstrate our commitment to our clients' success. The Axelrod Firm is certified as a woman-owned business by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, making it a certified minority-owned business. It is a member of NAMWOLF, the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms.

Its owner, Sheryl Axelrod:
(1) helps companies minimize their exposure in business, employment, general / products liability matters; and
(2) advises and fights for individuals and companies in disputes over money, contracts and/or real estate.

Sheryl has been recognized by her peers as a Super Lawyer® for the past four years in a row. She worked at Blank Rome, LLP, one of the 100 largest law firms in the country, before starting The Axelrod Firm. Two of Sheryl's briefs have been published. One of her recent trials, a David versus Goliath commercial defense victory, was published in "Pennsylvania Jury Verdict Review & Analysis," which catalogs the most significant verdicts in the state. The Superior Court of Pennsylvania, one of Pennsylvania's appellate courts, chose Sheryl to appear on public television to explain Pennsylvania appellate practice.

In addition to providing outstanding representation, The Axelrod Firm prides itself on its commitment to philanthropy and community service. Sheryl is the current President of the Temple Law Alumni Association, the fourth female to hold the post in TLAA's nearly 100 year history. Before becoming President, she was awarded TLAA's 2009 Distinguished Service Award. She also volunteers time to the Philadelphia Bar Association. In the Spring of 2010, she was appointed by the Association's Chancellor to a three-year term on the Commission on Judicial Selection's Investigative Division, an independent body that investigates those seeking to be elected as judges. She is also Communications Director of the Bar Association's Women in the Profession Newsletter Committee. Her article, "Seven Steps to Starting a Law Firm, appears in the second issue of the Newsletter.

In addition to her volunteer positions on the Temple Law Alumni Association and the Bar Association, Sheryl spent 4 years coaching high school mock trial teams and coached the Overbrook High School Mock Trial Team, an inner-city, minority team, to a state semifinal championship.
